Terms and Conditions for Gardening Services
These terms explain how gardening services booked through Now Gardening work, including service durations, payments, access, rescheduling, cancellations, waste, service standards and responsibilities.
Last updated: August 2026
1. About Now Gardening
Now Gardening Ltd operates an online platform through which customers can book gardening services from approved independent gardeners and gardening businesses.
Now Gardening facilitates booking, payment, communication and platform administration. Gardeners operate independently and are not employees of Now Gardening Ltd.
2. Service options and booked duration
Gardening services are available in the durations and team configurations displayed during booking. Depending on the option selected, the service may be carried out by a solo gardener or a two-person gardening team.
Current booking durations may include 1 hour, 2 hours, 3.5 hours and 7 hours, depending on the selected service and working setup.
The option selected and shown in the booking confirmation governs the service.
The booked duration includes reasonable loading, unloading, setup and packing-away time.
The gardener will confirm the customer’s priorities on arrival and explain what can reasonably be achieved within the booked duration.
Completion of every requested task is not guaranteed where the amount of work exceeds the booked time.
3. Scope of gardening work
Standard bookings are intended for garden maintenance services, which may include:
Garden tidy-ups
Lawn mowing and lawn care
Hedge cutting
Pruning
Planting
Weeding and border maintenance
Leaf clearance
Other services displayed during booking
The following are not included unless separately stated and agreed:
Heavy excavation or substantial digging
Major landscaping or construction work
Specialist tree surgery
Hazardous work
Household or non-gardening tasks
4. Arrival times
Booking times are scheduled arrival windows rather than guarantees to the exact minute.
Arrival may vary by up to one hour because of traffic, previous jobs or other unforeseen operational issues.
The customer will be notified where the expected delay is likely to exceed this window.
A reasonable delay does not automatically extend the booked service duration where it does not reduce the service time actually provided.
5. Customer priorities
The customer should identify their main priorities before work begins.
The gardener will work through those priorities within the booked duration.
The gardener may adjust the order of work for safety, practicality, seasonality or garden condition.
Additional time or work is not included unless separately agreed and paid for.
6. Customer responsibilities
Customers must:
Provide accurate information about the garden and requested work.
Provide clear and safe access.
Disclose hazards, access restrictions and parking issues.
Keep children and pets away from the working area.
Obtain any permissions required for the work.
Ensure the requested work is lawful.
Where access is through the property, the customer must provide suitable floor protection, and reasonable setup and access time forms part of the booked duration.
Where parking permits or access arrangements are required, the customer must make them available. Time lost because of unavailable parking or access will not normally extend the booked duration.
7. Booking and payment
Full payment or payment authorisation is required to confirm a booking.
The price and selected service are shown before confirmation.
A booking is not confirmed until payment has been successfully completed.
Additional work, time or waste charges must be approved where applicable.
Promotional codes must be entered before payment and are subject to their stated conditions.
Payments are refundable only where required by law or where these terms expressly provide for a refund. Cancellation and rescheduling charges apply as explained below. Nothing in these terms affects the customer’s statutory rights.
8. Online cancellation rights
Where the law provides a statutory cancellation period for an online service booking, those rights continue to apply.
If the customer asks for services to begin during a statutory cancellation period, they may be required to expressly request early performance.
If work has begun following that request, the customer may be responsible for the proportion of services already supplied.
Statutory rights are separate from the operational 48-hour rescheduling policy explained below.
9. Rescheduling by the customer
Customers may reschedule through the Now Gardening app or customer account up to 48 hours before the appointment.
Rescheduling remains subject to available booking slots.
A booking should normally be rearranged and used within 30 days of the original payment or booking date.
If the booking is not rearranged within that period, Now Gardening may treat it as expired, subject to applicable law and any circumstances reasonably raised by the customer.
10. Late cancellation and failed access
A cancellation made within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment may result in a charge up to the full booking amount where Now Gardening or the gardener cannot reasonably avoid the resulting loss.
Failure to provide access at the booked time may be treated as a late cancellation.
The charge reflects reserved time, lost availability and reasonable costs.
Any statutory rights remain unaffected.
11. Rescheduling by Now Gardening
Now Gardening may reschedule because of adverse weather, illness, vehicle problems, safety concerns or other unforeseen circumstances.
The customer will be notified by email, app notification or another available contact method.
The booking may be moved to the next suitable available slot.
If that time is unsuitable, the customer may choose another available time through the app or customer account.
Where Now Gardening cannot provide the service within a reasonable time, the customer may be entitled to an alternative remedy or refund where required by law.
12. Weather and unsafe conditions
Work may be postponed, limited or rearranged where weather or site conditions:
Make the work unsafe.
Risk damaging the garden.
Make the booked tasks impractical.
Prevent tools or equipment from being used safely.
13. Garden waste
Waste removal is not automatically included and is governed by the Waste Policy.
14. Service standards
Approved gardening professionals are expected to:
Present professionally.
Carry suitable professional tools.
Perform the service with reasonable care and skill.
Follow the confirmed booking details.
Communicate relevant issues.
Provide required booking updates.
15. Changes during the visit
Priorities may be adjusted after inspecting the garden.
Any adjustment remains limited by the booked duration and selected service.
Additional work or time is not included automatically.
Any extra payment must be agreed before additional chargeable work is completed.
16. Damage and existing conditions
Customers must disclose existing defects, fragile items, hidden services and known hazards.
Any alleged damage should be reported promptly, preferably within 24 hours, with photographs and relevant information.
Late notification does not remove rights that cannot legally be excluded, but may make investigation more difficult.
Now Gardening and the relevant gardener may investigate the circumstances before accepting liability.
Where Now Gardening is legally responsible for direct property damage, liability will be assessed according to the proven loss, applicable law and the circumstances of the incident. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
17. Complaints
Customers should report issues promptly through the Contact page and include:
Booking reference.
An explanation of the issue.
Relevant photographs.
The outcome sought.
Now Gardening will review the booking information and may consult the independent gardener before deciding the appropriate response.
18. Refunds, credits and repeat visits
Refunds, credits or corrective visits are assessed according to the circumstances.
Relevant factors include work completed, evidence supplied, the booking terms and applicable consumer rights.
Nothing guarantees an automatic refund or repeat visit.
Nothing limits remedies available under consumer law.
19. Independent gardeners
Gardeners provide services as independent businesses.
Now Gardening facilitates the booking and platform administration.
No employment relationship is created between Now Gardening and the gardener.
Nothing in this clause removes responsibilities that Now Gardening has directly to customers under applicable law.
20. Liability and events outside reasonable control
Neither party is responsible for delay or failure caused by events genuinely outside reasonable control.
This may include severe weather, natural disasters, transport disruption, government action or other comparable events.
The affected party should notify the other as soon as reasonably possible.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of statutory consumer rights or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
21. Dispute resolution
The customer should first contact Now Gardening so the complaint can be reviewed directly.
The parties may agree to use mediation or another suitable alternative-dispute-resolution process.
Mediation or arbitration is not mandatory unless the customer freely agrees after the dispute arises.
Nothing prevents a consumer from exercising their right to bring a claim through the courts.
22. Personal information
Personal information is handled under the Privacy Policy.
23. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated periodically. The version applying to a booking is normally the version presented when that booking was confirmed, except where a change is required by law.
24. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights allowing a consumer to bring proceedings elsewhere.
